CAWEE’s Executive Director, Dr. Nigest Haile, was one of the speakers at the Multi-stakeholders Training Workshop that discussed on “Path to Elimination of Gender-Based Violence and Harassment at Workplaces.
The workshop, organized by Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce & Sectoral Associations (AACCSAs), took place on August 01, 2023, at the Inter Luxury Hotel in Addis Ababa. The workshop focused on the theme: Gender Equality and Inclusion in Ethiopia.
The workshop was officially opened with a welcoming remark delivered by W/ro. Mesenbet Shenkute, President, AACCSAs.
The workshop had four panellists, where the Executive Director of CAWEE was one of the speakers, speaking on the theme: “Barriers for Gender Equality and Inclusion in Ethiopia”.
The other two speakers from Ethiopia expressed their reflections on ‘Policies in Action for Gender Equality & Inclusion in Ethiopia’ and ‘Some Practices from the Horticulture Sector to Address Gender Equality & Anti-harassment’.
One of the speakers was from the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI), Clara Halverson, Senior Advisor, Global Development and Sustainability; she provided her contributions on ‘Elimination of Gender-Based Violence and Harassment in the Workplaces and Best Approaches from Denmark’.
The workshop was participatory in exchanging views, reflections, where the root causes and impacts were discussed and opinions were recommended for the way forward.
